By Orlando Racelis

Are you planning exercise by jogging? Before you start, if you are hypertensive, I suggest that you consult your medical doctor first to check if it is alright for you. If you think you are physically fit or have a go signal from your Doctor, here are some tips on how to prepare for a jogging program. Here are the pointers I have gathered for you.

• Stretching before and after your exercise. This is to avoid any muscles pull ups. • Wear a good jogging pair of shoes. Wearing sports shoes designed for jogging provides good protection from sprains and foot blisters. It also protects your upper body parts because your shoes absorb shocks during jogging. • Wear the right clothing for the type of weather – Make sure your movement is not restricted. By wearing a loose clothing, you can have a flexible movement of your legs and arms and it helps avoids tripping over. Wearing of lightweight materials during summer keeps you stay cool and by wearing an insulated clothing materials during winter keeps you warm. • Select for a safe and good place for jogging. Avoid jogging on a busy street where there are many vehicles around. In this way, you are not taking the risk of getting hit and at the same time avoid breathing a polluted air. Make sure you choose a safer neighborhood to avoid being a victim of a holdup. • Wearing dark clothes when it is already dark is dangerous for you. There are bike riders and other motorist drivers who have a blurred vision, so brighter color like white is much safer. Wear a reflective clothing specially at night. • Bring along with you a friend if you can. This helps your jogging more enjoyable at the same time gives you more motivation. • It is good idea to bring an MP3 player to listen to music while you jog. This will make your exercise more enjoyable. You can record a motivational speeches and play if while you jog. • Measure your weight before and after you jog. Record it! You will experience a feeling of self accomplishment each time you loose your weight. This will help you motivate to continue. Setting up a goal helps you track your progress in your jogging program. • Do not over eat. Exercising and dieting goes together to make your weight loss program a success. Proper nutrition controls our body weight. Loosing weight could be a lot fun if you will do it right from the start. Of course you can easily adjust if you already started your jogging program. Doing it safely is the best thing to do is it not? A lot of self discipline is required to be able to achieve your goal. Starting it slowly and increasing the pace gradually is the right way to jog. When it comes to eating, do not reduce your diet by a big amount. Reduce it gradually also. Consult a book on food nutrition for a proper diet. Diet reduction should be treated seriously and requires consultation and professional advice from an expert. This step is option that you must consider of if consider yourself overweight.
